Offline folders make only sense for laptop users. The remaining stuff is handled well by backup. You can as well leave your profile locally and on top map network drives to available shares on the WHS which would allow you to save files in a way, that multiple people can access them. Offline Folders may be an issue, as I believe you are editing the file directly on the server before it is sync'd to your location machine. By using the default WHS Backup, this is not an issue. From what I take, that was from editing directly on the machine itself. I read a bit about the corruption issues, and how SP1 fixed that. Maybe I am unfamiliar with how WHS backup works with SIS (Single Instance Store), and perhaps is linked to the Replication of files? So I propose my current options below, and ask for feedback. But with WHS' auto-backup of the client machine, this has me thinking of file duplicate issues of saving these files offline, while WHS backs up the entire machine as well. I have been familiar with using Offline Folders for an adhoc sync backup system over network shares of the files I was syncing.
